Tour character

Marmots live in the high mountains, so families should be fit and in good physical condition for this hike on moderately difficult paths. From the Lazidbahn mountain station (Serfaus valley resort), the route takes you along the narrow Murmeltiersteig trail via Kitzköfpl to the romantic Furglersee lake and on to Komperdell, where you can use the cable car to descend to Serfaus. Walking time for the entire loop is approx. three hours, not including breaks to look for marmots.

Description

From the mountain station of the Lazidbahn (S301), the path first follows the wide carriageway to Scheid (S217). From WW (S218) behind the lift station, the path leads to the Marmot Trail 25a, over the Kitzköpfl to the Furglersee (S211). From the Furglersee, follow the long-distance hiking trail 702 (Trail 21), crossing the Malfrist meadows to Komperdell (Kölner Haus).
