From one playground to the next with mascot Rocky in the idyllic moorland area above Going am Wilden Kaiser. The puzzle map shows who is an attentive moor explorer.
Eight kilometers easy trail, walking time three hours, but the enjoyable playtime is much longer on the Moor & More Rocky trail, so that the family hiking day is filled with fun and adventure. On nice days, you can pay a refreshing visit to the Going natural swimming lake. A wonderful excursion area that offers far "more" than just moorland!
The Rocky way starts at the hiking starting point at Hüttling (subject to charge), above the bathing lake.
From here you hike along the forest path in the direction of the Wilder Kaiser. The rushing Sinnersbach creek accompanies you for a while before you turn right.
Throughout the moorland area you will find play stations for children, information boards with interesting facts and overview maps for orientation. At the “stone hill”, a forest path leads you to the next stations and you then reach the forest path again. Follow the path through the shady forest, always along the Rocky Trail, which is marked with small stickers on the signs.
You reach a clearing at this power place above Going, which offers a wonderful view over the valley. The covered rest area is an inviting option for taking a break. After your break, you can either turn back (the way back follows the same route) or explore the last two stations.
From the "drei verkehrten Bäume" (three upside-down trees) follow the track downhill, along small, easy root paths and footbridges, then follow the forest path a little. Then it takes you to the road that leads to the large forest playground. Take the same route back to the starting point at hiking starting point Hüttling.
This tour is particularly suitable for children. You can pick up a puzzle map at the tourist office, and nothing stands in the way of guessing fun. Sneak through the forest together, visit the 'drei verkehrten Bäume' (three upside-down trees) and scramble along the spider's wg. There's all this and much more to explore.
The Rocky Trail is a little more challenging and suitible for experienced children aged 5 and over. Since the trail can be narrow and uneven with lots of exposed tree roots in places, it is not suitable for strollers. It's a great trail for all ages but be prepared to carry little ones. A backpack carrier is a good solution for babies and toddlers.
When all stations have been passed and all the fields of the Rocky Trail have been stamped on the map, a little surprise awaits the moorland explorers at the tourist office of Going.
Attention: The same path must be taken back from the last station (forest playground) to the starting point
Tip: For all those who would like to find out more about the natural wonder of the moor, the guided family moorland hike is just the thing - wether you want to observe water animals or enjoy a home-picked snack. Set off on a voyage of discovery through the natural jewel of Going.
