Description

From the Serles lifts, take the pleasant forest road to Maria Waldrast. The path to the Serles begins directly at the monastery fountain. At the beginning, it takes about 20 minutes to climb a little steeper through the forest. The trail continues diagonally through steep terrain, between fields of mountain pines and along scree-filled gullies under the rocks until you reach a wide cirque. You pass a spring and finally walk quite steeply to the Serlesjöchl. Directly at the Joch there is a rock step on the right, which is secured with a small ladder and a wire rope. Above it, the trail continues on a narrow mountain path, partly over scree and rubble. Shortly before the large and spacious summit plateau with its large summit cross, it becomes steeper again. The way back can be done via the same path. The round tour via the Kalbenjoch to the Ochsenalm is worthwhile, or if you want to conquer another peak, via the Blaser and then through the Lange Tal back to Maria Waldrast.
