Mountain hikes Maria Brettfall - Schrofenmarterl - Schlitterberg - Maria Brettfall - Strass (Trail No. 2)

Description

Set off from the Municipal office and head past the festival hall before heading up the Kirchsteig towards the hamlet of Astholz. After the underpass, follow the well developed hiking trail along a winding path heading up through the forest until you reach the Maria Brettfall church of pilgrimage. The trail 
continues uphill from there to Ellerboden (a short climb on the right leads to a lookout point that offers a magnificent view) – continue straight ahead at the crossroads and head towards the Schrofen marterl (shrine) until the trail merges with the Öxltalweg trail. Head uphill along the asphalt road for a short distance from there. Turn right towards Schrofenmarterl at the junction. When you reach the junction, continue straight on and uphill towards the Schrofenmarterl. After a few sharp bends, turn left onto the hiking trail towards Schrofenmarterl where you will be treated to an amazing view. The route heads to Schlitterberg along a narrow hiking trail. Head downhill along the Öxltalweg until you reach Maria Brettfall, from where you can head back to Strass.
