Mountain hikes Maienweg

Description

From Arlberg WellCom, head west to the roundabout and along the Alte Arlbergstraße. After about 200 m, head right towards the museum. The trail runs along the Steißbach river and through the park into the Mühltobelschlucht gorge. It continues on well-secured, steep path with some climbs, past the waterfall and then upwards to Dengert. From Dengert, head east to Moos, walk through the underpass. Here, turn left and continue to the Sennhütte. Continue west (Wunder- Wander-Weg) up to the Arlberg tunnel ventilation shaft and go along the Arlbergstraße arcade. After this, head up a step ridge to the signposted fork. Here, take a right (Trail 16) and go up the switchbacks to the Maiensee. Continue west on Trail 20 down to St. Christoph. Take the same path back to the starting point (approx. 2:30 hrs). Alternative: take the Postbus back to St. Anton (bus stop: Arlberg Hospiz Hotel).
