Mountain hikes Lizum Stone Pine Trail

Difficulty ratings: medium
Route length: 12 km
Duration: 4:30 h

If you are looking for a real "feel-good hut", then the Lizumer Hütte in the Wattener Lizum in the Tux Alps is highly recommended. The moderately steep ascent leads through a picturesque pine forest and across colorful alpine meadows directly to the hut.

Tour character

From the Lager Walchen parking lot, follow the signs for the Zirbenweg trail in the direction of Lizumer Hütte. The idyllic route leads along the Lizumbach stream moderately uphill to the Stieralm and then continues alternately along the forest path and the hiking trail. As the altitude increases, the Swiss stone pines become fewer and fewer, giving way to extensive alpine pastures, until you finally reach the Lizumer Hütte, which stands in a magnificent mountain basin framed by the Tux Alps. The sun terrace is located right next to the hut's own pond and invites you to make yourself comfortable in one of the deckchairs.
