Mountain hikes Lechtaler Höhenweg: 6th stage: Württemberger Haus-Steinseehütte-Hanauer Hütte

Zams /
Difficulty ratings: difficult
Route length: 9.5 km
Duration: 5:15 h

Bittersweet - that's how you could summarize today's stage. It's bitter at the Bitterscharte - it has to be climbed down on two ropes. It then becomes sweet as we hike across beautiful meadows. We marvel at Lake Gufelsee and get ready for the final spurt to the Hanauer Hütte. Now the path is easy and we can let our minds wander.

Tour character

Difficult stage on black mountain paths. Alpine experience, basic climbing skills, surefootedness and a head for heights are required. At the Bitterscharte you have to climb down on ropes. Good physical condition and arm strength required.

Description

The nearby Gebäudjoch is soon reached. A view to the east reveals the Steinseehütte in the distance, which is only reached after a total of 4 hours of walking. The trail always remains on the southern slope of the main ridge. After overcoming the Roßkarschartl, the route descends comfortably to your destination.
