Take the city bus line 1 to the Meraner Straße stop and then walk about 10 minutes to the valley station of the Kaiser lift.

A challenging day tour using the Kaiserlift as an ascent aid. You hike down the alpine Bettlersteig trail from the Stadtberg, offering impressive views of the Kaiser Mountains. Passing through one of Austria's most beautiful spots, the Kaisertal, you return to the starting point via approximately 280 steps.
If you take the Kaiserlift as an aid for the first 700 meters of elevation gain, you start from the mountain station and hike upward for about an hour over the Stadtberg to reach the Gamskogel. From this viewpoint, you have a view of the rugged Kaiser Mountain Range. From there, descend further towards the Steinbergalm and turn left on the alpine, challenging Bettlersteig trail across the meadow. Due to its uniqueness, location, and exceptional beauty, this trail has been awarded the Tyrolean Seal of Quality for hiking trails. Important: Recommended only in dry weather, as the steps become slippery when wet.
Once you reach the bottom of the Kaisertal, the Anton-Karg-Haus offers the first opportunity for a rest. Refreshed, you can follow the trail down the valley toward the Kaiseraufstieg. Along the way, you’ll pass one of the most popular photo spots in the valley, the Antonius Chapel, set against the majestic northern side of the Wilder Kaiser. Following a wide gravel path, you pass the Pfandlhof and Veitenhof before leaving the Kaisertal after ascending 280 steps.
