A charming ascent to the Plauener Hütte with a panoramic view of the summit and reservoir, plus the anticipation of a hearty mountaineering meal. Perhaps a fluffy Kaiserschmarren for dessert?
Alpine box seat: The Plauener Hütte is located high above the Zillergründl reservoir in the Kuchelmooskar in the eastern Zillertal Alps. The hut ascent from the Zillergrund past the reservoir up into the high mountains is also easy to manage for mountain hikers, walking time: approx. 3 hours. Looking down into the valley, the reservoir lies at your feet, surrounded by the three thousand meter peaks of the Reichenspitz group. And in the kitchen, the hut owner cooks his famous goulash from regional produce.
Hike from Bärenbadalm,1.450 m in the Zillergrund, along the forest path until you reach the dam of the Zillergründl reservoir. Upon arrival there, continue your hike through the short tunnel on the lakeside road and follow trail number 512 until you reach the left turn towards Plauenerhütte, 2.363 m. For the return journey, take the same route back until you reach Bärenbadalm,1.450 m again.
