Hut hike Hut hike: Ginzling Schlegeis reservoir - Olpererhütte

Finkenberg, Zillertal /
Difficulty ratings: medium
Route length: 6.1 km
Duration: 3:00 h

The simple gabled roof house stands out - a little above the steep slope and out of the conventional hut architecture. As Adolf Loos once did, the architects have left the picturesque to the mountains and the sun.

Tour character

The easiest ascent to the spectacular Olpererhütte: from the Schlegeis reservoir uphill on good, not exposed paths for about one and a half hours. The hut is a base for many long-distance hiking and high-altitude trails and the starting point for spectacular mountain ascents, but it is also good to linger on the sun terrace beneath the third highest peak in the Zillertal Alps and simply enjoy nature and the present.
