Your moderately difficult tour to the mountain lake starts in Holzgau through the Höhenbach valley. At the Rossgumpenalm, you continue hiking through the Schochenalp valley, along a gravel path until you reach a marked trail. The route from the Heilbronner Weg to Holzgau leads you past the Schochenalpsee, this branches off at the small Steinscharte to Holzgau. On the way you will pass some waterfalls worth seeing and hike the route back to your starting point.
