Description

Your route from Holzgau starts at the church in Holzgau, continuing through the Höhenbachtal valley, past the Simms waterfall to the Vordere Roßgumpenalm. At the Vordere Roßgumpenalm, the steep path leads you northwards and shortly afterwards leads into a narrow path. After another half hour, you will reach the upper Roßgumpenalm. About another hour later, you will reach the Krottenkopfscharte junction, from here it is not too far to the Krottenkopfscharte at 2350 m. For the ascent from the Krottenkopfscharte to the summit, you absolutely need surefootedness, alpine experience and a head for heights.
