A fantastic view opens up at the small Gilfert. You can also take a seat here on granite benches and gain an inner world view inspired by spiritual symbols. A wonderful place to recharge your batteries!
Please don't underestimate the "Little" Gilfert, which is 2,388 meters high. From Innerst am Weerberg, it takes around six hours to walk there and back on moderately difficult mountain paths. But the nature experience is magnificent, especially from the Untere Nurpensalm. There are always beautiful views back to three alpine villages and across the Inntal valley to the Karwendel mountains. When you reach your destination, pause, marvel and be inspired by the mountains and art!
Departing from Hochfügen car park/bus stop, follow the gravel forest road along Finsingbach stream and past the Pfundsalm Niederleger en route to the Pfundsalm Hochleger. Stay on the road as you continue your ascent into the head of the valley until you reach the signpost for the Kleiner Gilfert on the right-hand side. A further 200 vertical meters up, you will come to a narrow yet straightforward trail that leads you across pasture terrain and up to the remarkable summit cross. The return journey goes back along the same route.
The peace symbol represents and unites nine different religions. In the middle is a mythical creature (phoenix rising from the ashes) symbolizing rebirth. In addition, a philosophical saying by Meister Ekhard (The eternal word is only audible in stillness), is engraved and translated on bronze in ten different languages.
