Mountain hikes Hochalm - Wedelhütte - Gedrechter (2217m) - Arbiskopf (1944m) - hiking area Hochzillertal

Description

Starting from the terrace of the Kaltenbacher Skihütte hut, follow the trail to the newly created wildlife trail and keep to the right. While enjoying the view of Hubertuskapelle chapel, hike out of the valley until the end and then follow the forest road until you reach the Hochalm pasture – which you will be able to see upon exiting 
a small section of forest directly opposite. Head past a source to the cluster of buildings on the pasture; next to the old stone hut at the very centre stands a signpost for the route through the Grubachtal valley. This features a gentle ascent through Alpine pasture terrain and ultimately brings you to the reservoir (excellent views and 
ideal for a snack break) below the Wedelhütte hut. Stay on the forest road until you reach the Wedelhütte hut. On the return journey, head along the forest road until you reach the beginning of the hiking trail to Gedrechter mountain. Following a brief ascent to the summit, the hiking trail continues downhill, past the Arbiskopf mountain, and back to the starting point.
