Route: Munde parking lot (P18) - Rauthhütte - Zugspitzblick - east summit Hohe Munde - Zugspitzblick - Rauthhütte - Munde parking lot (P18)

Parking and public transport:
P18 "Munde parking lot".
By train to Seefeld train station and continue with the Regiobus to the stop "Leutasch Weiler Moos".

Directions:
The hike begins at the Munde parking lot (P18) in Leutasch-Moos. Follow the trail to the right through the forest until it joins the trail from Obern to the Rauthhütte. First we go up over pastures to the Zugspitzblick, before we cross a mountain pine belt and then reach gravelly and alpine terrain. The route continues steep and rocky over the eastern ridge to the eastern summit (2,592 m). The west summit can be reached via the saddle.

On the descent you have 2 options:

  1. The same way back as the ascent.
  2. The crossing of the west peak and further to the Niedere Munde (rope insurance). From here either via the Strassberghaus to Telfs or via the Gaistal back to Leutasch.
