Description

Hike up Ellmau's local mountain. You start this rather easy hike at the hiking information point in the village center, from where it is only a few steps to the refreshing “Kapellenpark”. Via serpentines you reach the Marienkapelle chapel. Here you already have a wonderful view of Ellmau and the Wilder Kaiser. Continue uphill to the Naschberghof. A forest hiking trail (the toboggan run runs here in winter) now leads up the serpentines to the local mountain. At the top, you can either stop off at the Treichlhof or at the jezz Alm and indulge in culinary delights. The first part of the way back is the same route. At the large crossroads, turn right towards Ellmau via March, and at the next junction turn left towards Ellmau and back to the starting point.

Tip: In approx. 10 minutes you reach the Astberg, where you can hike around the Astbergsee lake and enjoy the magnificent panorama. Afterwards, take the Astbergbahn cable car down into the valley and back to Ellmau.
