Whether you just want to immerse yourself in the picturesque forest clearings or plunge right into the green lake - Nauders has an excellent hike for both types of forest bathing.
Easy forest hike with ascent aid, which leads over the Großer Mutzkopf and past two picturesque forest clearings with lakes. Thanks to the shady forest, this is an ideal, quiet walk for warm days. If you come in July, you can see the water lilies blooming in the Schwarzen See nature reserve.
With the Mutzkopf chairlift you first drive up to the Kleiner Mutzkopf (1,812 m). From the mountain station, Route no. 9 leads slightly down through the forest to the Schwarzer See. The route continues on Trail no. 6a to the Grüner See. The nature-protected mountain lake is relatively warm and is ideal for a swim in the summer. Further south-east you can reach the Grossmutz meadows and the turn-off to the Grossmutz peak via a short, steep climb. From here the route goes on Trail no. 6 over the Partoang meadows. Short steep sections and flat meadows lead to the highest point of the Grosser Mutzkopf (1,987 m) with a beautiful view of Lake Reschen and the Ortler Group. On the way back, follow Trail no. 7, past the Tief and Riatschhof, and over a ski path (No. 5a) to the valley meadows to Nauders.
