After the comfortable mountain journey with the Rosenalm cable car in Zell am Ziller you will arrive at the starting point of the approximately one hour hike from Rosenalm to Schmankerlhütte Kreuzwiesenalm. The light hiking trail no. 11 leads past fragrant forests and green mountain pastures to the romantically situated lodge with a magnificent view of the Zillertal mountain landscape. Throughout the whole trail you will learn many interesting things about the culinary delicacies of the Zillertal – lovingly provided by the boards along the path – making your anticipation of stopping and trying out these specialities even greater! And that’s not all: So that you can continue to enjoy the treats from the Kreuzwiesenalm and other stop-off points after your holiday,
we have prepared a little recipe book for you to cook up some treats at home. The Schmankerlweg is the ideal trail for connoisseurs both young and old! You can head back on the same path or you can change onto hiking trail no. 12 a, approximately 2.5 hours after you reach Gerlosberg, and then head onto Zell.
