Good things take time: This applies to the ascent to the Erlanger Hütte, which is not technically demanding, but long. And it also applies to the food served at the hut. This is because head chef Christian Rimml is committed to the idea of slow food. As soon as you sit on the terrace with a plate of ibex ragout and enjoy the fabulous view alongside your meal, you know that the time invested is well spent.
Ascent through the Leierstal, past the Vordere Leierstalalm to the Erlanger Hütte at 2,541 meters. The path is initially wide and moderately ascending before it turns into a steep, direct ascent after the hut. Sure-footedness and stamina are required here. If you are already so close to the summit of the Wildgrat, you should climb it. It is not without reason that it is one of the most beautiful panoramic peaks in Tyrol with sweeping views of the Ötz, Pitz and Inn valleys.
The hike starts by the car park Mure in Umhausen. You walk through the hamlet Neudorf and cross the river "Ötztaler Ache". from there you walk the way up to the "Vordere Leierstalalm" and to the end of the hike Erlanger hut.
