Panoramic hike to the Hochalm hut via a high elevated trail with wonderful views
From the tourist office slightly ascending to the Hotel Kaiserhof. Pass the aparment blocks and follow the wide gravel path on the left of the farm. Further, past the storage pond of the Thanellerkarlift to the large avalanche dam of the lift. There straight ahead on the gravel path slightly ascending into the forest. There is an ever-increasing path that takes you to some beautiful viewing points. The end of the path again leads to a forest road (driving ban) that leads uphill to the Heiterwanger Hochalm.
The ascent from the Hochalm to the Almkopf summit, which lies at 1,802 meters, is also worthwhile.
From there you can enjoy a great view of the Berwangertal (viewpoint) - approx. 30 minutes ascent.
Descent options:
- via the Hochalm / forest path to Berwang
- via the Jägerhaus to Berwang
- descent to Bichlbach
- the same way back to Berwang
The Hochalm can also be reached in summer with the Berwanger Sonnalmbahn (4-seater chairlift) - opening times and rates are available in the tourist office.
