The tranquil alpine pasture area high above Lake Achensee is a paradise for families who love hiking. Can you spot the marmot and the jumping chamois? Or arnica and gentian along the way?
Located on the east side of Lake Achensee, the Köglalm is popular with leisure hikers and families due to its good paths and scenic beauty. It can be reached from Achenkirch in approx. 1 ½ hours. Refreshments are available at the snack station before continuing on to the Kotalm-Mitterleger. Here you can grab some food in your rucksack, as the hut is not staffed. The almost 10-kilometre circular hike can also be hiked in the opposite direction.
From the car park at the Adventure Park Achensee follow the signposts to the Köglalm, then head south to the mountain hut Kotalm Mitterleger (not serviced). From here, walk back to the car park in the valley via the Kotalm Niederleger (not serviced).
