The Vorkarwendel is the expansive, lush green front garden of the gray, towering Karwendel peaks. It is home to numerous rustic alpine pastures, hidden valleys and fantastic panoramic peaks. The Juifen is one of the most beautiful places in this garden.
Panoramic mountain tour in the scenically beautiful Vorkarwendel. The route up the Juifen is long but technically easy, running along alpine supply routes and earthy paths through alpine meadows. Especially in early summer, the meadows around the Juifen are in full bloom. The mountain pastures on the route are not farmed.
A worthwhile alternative is to start at the Hagenkirchlein parking lot. From here, you can cover the first part of the tour by mountain bike to the beautifully situated Rotwandalm (snacks and drinks). The two routes meet just below the summit.
From the car park "Falkenmoos", a wide path first leads through shadowy forests, then over mountain pastures to the mountain huts Falkenmoosalm (1,328 metres, not serviced) and Großzemmalm (1,535 metres, not serviced). From there, continue to the Lämpereralm (at around 1,714 metres, not serviced). From here, head north and climb up to the Juifen (1,988 metres). The return is via the same route.
