This circular hike from Kufstein takes in four lakes at once. However, if you (like us) are a bit of a panorama addict, you can still take in a small view of the summit from the viewing tower at the Thierberg ruins.
Largely flat circular hike on forest and gravel paths starting in the town of Kufstein and passing the Pfrillsee, Längsee, Egelsee and Hechtsee lakes. Worthwhile viewing tower at the Thierberg ruins on the way back.
Crystal-clear water. Magnificent beech and fir forests. Fascinating flora and fauna. The hiking tour leads around the most beautiful lakes in the Kufstein region. Starting from Hechtsee, hikers explore the shores of Längsee and Pfrillsee.
The hike begins at the parking lot by Hechtsee, passing to the right of the lake restaurant – the large white building. The path is impossible to miss, as there is only one circular route.
On the southwestern side of Hechtsee, the trail follows its inflow uphill – a beautiful, idyllic little stream – leading to Längsee, which lies hidden in the forest. After crossing the main road to Thiersee, it takes just a few minutes to reach Pfrillsee. This lake is circled halfway before a small trail marks the midpoint of the route.
Returning across the main road, a worthwhile detour leads up to Thierberg and the Thierberg Chapel, offering a stunning view of Kufstein and the Kaiser Mountains. Following the same path back, hikers pass the Neuhaus Inn before reaching Hechtsee again.
From mid-June to the beginning of September, the pike lake can also be reached by bus in good weather. You can find more information and the timetable here.
With the KufsteinerlandCard within the region bus free of charge.
