The extensive tour from Kössen in Kaiserwinkl via Reit im Winkl on the Bavarian side leads over asphalt and gravel roads through the remote Klausenbachtal valley and along the idyllic Gr0ßache river. The tour requires a good level of fitness, but offers wonderful scenic views of the Chiemgau Alps and the Kaiser Mountains.

Description

The tour starts at the Kaiserwinkl event centre. At the roundabout take the first exit and drive past the church. Drive eastwards along the Mühlbergweg. Soon the landscape opens up and the gravel road leads over to Bavaria with a beautiful view. Follow the narrow asphalt road back down to Reit im Winkl. Turn right onto Weitseestraße, which leads to Groißenbach. Cross the Lofer on the right and cycle south via Blindau. It goes up again, first on asphalt, then on gravel, into the id An idyllic, remote Klausenbachtal. After reaching the highest point at the Weissensteinalm, the route descends slightly and then in hairpin bends steeper down to the Großache. There, turn sharply to the right and drive along the river back down the valley towards Kössen.
