Long-distance bike rides in Tirol are multi-day adventures where riders can explore the region with a bike and a rucksack. The terrain covered includes everything from lakes and rivers to towns and villages – and thanks to the option of an overnight stay at one of Tirol’s cyclist-friendly accommodation providers it is possible for riders to complete large distances each day. Difficult sections can often be avoided using public transport such as buses and trains. Some long-distance bike rides are suitable for e-bikes with plenty of charging stations along the way.
The most beautiful multi-day bike rides in Tirol from June until September include the Bike Everest Tirol, the KAT Bike, the Kaiserradrunde, the Inn Cycle Path, the Via Claudia Augusta, the Drau Cycle Path, the Munich-Venice long-distance ride and the Mozart Cycle Path. Many cycle paths follow rivers in the valley, while the long-distance cycle path on the Via Claudia Augusta runs along the former ancient Roman road of the same name. This route also allows beginners to cross the Alps, as sections over mountain passes can be completed by public transport, including bike transport. The Tirolean section of the Mozart Cycle Route touches on places associated with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Munich-Venice long-distance ride crosses Tirol from the Austrian-German border to the Brenner Pass on the Austrian-Italian bor-der.
Bikers can stay the night in guesthouses, hotels and holiday apartments. Tirol’s towns and villages offer plenty of quality-approved bike accommodation.
There are e-bike charging stations along the routes of several long-distance bike trails in Tirol. There are also accommodation providers and guesthouses where you are able to charge your bike. Tirol has a comprehensive network of e-bike charging stations.
