There are more than 680 official mountain bike routes in Tirol with a total length of around 7,500 kilometres. The most beautiful e-bike rides usually depend on personal preference. However, easy-to-ride paths, gentle gradients, a beautiful panorama and a refreshment stop are decisive features. According to these criteria, there are - from west to east - the Plamortrunde at the Reschensee lake, the Komperdell Runde in the Fiss-Ladis-Serfaus Bike Park and the MTB ride to the Amberger Hütte in the Stubai Alps, to the Seebensee in the Mieminger and Wetterstein Mountains, the Naviser Almenrunde, the ride to the Bayreuther Hütte in the Rofan Mountains, the ascent to the Zillergrund, to the Hexenwasser in Hochsöll in the Kitzbühel Alps, to the Harschbichl in St. Johann in Tirol to the Klammjochl in the Defereggental Valley.
For riding on forest roads and tarmac, a conventional hardtail mountain bike is suitable – full-suspension bikes are significantly heavier. A gravel bike or e-bike can also be used on these trails. However, when using an e-bike, please bear in mind the steepness of the ride. E-bikes are often easy to handle while riding uphill but significantly more difficult to keep under control when riding downhill due to the fact that they are heavy. Good bike-handling and braking skills are therefore a must.
We like mountain bikers in Tirol. That's why we signpost particularly well the paths where biking is permitted. Conversely, we also ask you to stay on these trails when riding.
In addition to the signposted, official enduro routes, you will also find quality bike parks and a well-developed trail network. Many mountain lifts will be happy to transport you and your bike to the starting point. Mountain bikers will therefore find over 5,000 kilometres of official mountain bike trails.
