Downhill & Trails

MTB region in check: Katzenkopf in Seefeld

If you like it quieter and are looking for a relaxed alternative to the other bike parks in Tyrol, the Katzenkopf in Leutasch is just the place for you. The trails are perfect for beginners and families, but advanced riders will also get their money's worth here. The start arena of the bike park is located at the Katzenkopfhütte.

Journey

To get to Seefeld, take the Zirl-Ost exit on the A12 Inntal motorway and cross the Zirlerberg. From here, follow the signs to Leutasch and on to the Katzenkopf. The journey from Innsbruck takes around 30 minutes.

Trails

With three trails and a pump track, the bike park and offers fun in a family environment.

The flow trails wind picturesquely through the forest and impress with their different shades of green on the descent. Whether the "Green Pangea" trail bears this name for this reason or because of its green difficulty level is up to you to decide on the spot. Those who like a flowy ride and can already master smaller jumps will have a lot of fun on the "Kitty Twister".

The "Dirty Dancer" is the right choice for advanced riders. In addition to rooty and rocky sections reminiscent of a tap dance, the route also offers berms and jumps in the "mambo flow".

Last but not least, the "Gravel Pit" awaits. Those who want to improve their basic technique or simply have fun will find what they are looking for on the pump track. Those who like it sporty can pedal the 300 metres in altitude to the bike park's start arena themselves. In this case, a relaxed forest path awaits, which is tarmac at the start and then leads along a gravel road to the Katzenkopf hut. You will also find the trail entrances or intermediate stops along the way. Alternatively, you can travel in comfort on the mountain railway, which has been modernised and upgraded for bike transport.

Accommodation & Service

The sunny plateau around Seefeld and Leutasch offers a wide range of accommodation and hotels. In addition to mountain biking, there are many other leisure activities in the region.

There is a bike shop directly at the valley station, which offers a large selection of spare parts and bikes as well as a large fleet of hire bikes. From downhill bikes to enduro bikes and children's bikes, the range leaves nothing to be desired. The bikes, which are serviced daily, are customised to suit individual needs and protective equipment can also be hired from the shop.

The Katzenkopf Mountain Bike School also offers a wide range of courses for beginners and advanced riders - from taster courses to specific riding technique training.

Culinary delights are of course also available on the mountain. The Katzenkopfhütte is located at 1,360 metres above sea level and enchants with a wonderful view of the sunny plateau. The young team at the hut leaves nothing to be desired on the mountain either.
