You may know him from the big screen, but the Wild Kai-ser is actually an even better live performer: on this bike tour you can experience the TV star up close and even pass by some filming locations along the way.
In the face of the Wilder Kaiser and its jagged skyline, the 38.2-kilometre cycle path leads from St. Johann in Tirol via Going, Ellmau, Scheffau and Söll to Wörgl in the Inn Valley. The family-friendly valley route has a few moderate climbs, but you can often just let the bike roll, especially on the second half. The cycle path mostly runs away from the main road and offers plenty of opportunities to rest in inns and restaurants along the way.
You start the tour in Wörgl at the Innbrücke bridge and cycle via Kirchbichl/Bruckhäusl following the signs to Söll. You go through the Pirchmoos district to the centre of Söll. From here you cycle between the Hotel Feldwebel and the church and, heading for the Eggerwirt inn, you come to the Gänsleit district. Follow the cycle route signs to Scheffau. You come to the Scheffau district of Blaiken from where you go through the underpass to the Brandstadlbahn Scheffau valley station. Cycle past the Gasthof Waldhof inn and immediately turn left onto the cycle path which you follow to Ellmau. You pass the Gasthof Ellmauer Hof hotel. Continue straight ahead and turn right towards Au. You now follow the Weissache river to the football pitch in Ellmau. Follow the trail past the Gasthof Au inn and Ellmau Church to Ellmau. The Alte Strasse brings you to Going. From Going you continue over the Rerobichl, past Oberndorf, and over the districts of Sperten and Weitau to St. Johann.
Numerous places to stop in the villages tempt you with hearty refreshments.
