Radwanderweg Wilder Kaiser Nr. 14
****
You may know him from the big screen, but the Wild Kai-ser is actually an even better live performer: on this bike tour you can experience the TV star up close and even pass by some filming locations along the way.
In the face of the Wilder Kaiser and its jagged skyline, the 38.2-kilometre cycle path leads from St. Johann in Tirol via Going, Ellmau, Scheffau and Söll to Wörgl in the Inn Valley. The family-friendly valley route has a few moderate climbs, but you can often just let the bike roll, especially on the second half. The cycle path mostly runs away from the main road and offers plenty of opportunities to rest in inns and restaurants along the way.
You start the tour in Wörgl at the Inn bridge and ride via Kirchbichl/Bruckhäusl towards Söll. Via the Pirchmoos district and past the Pirchmoos chapel you come directly to the center of Söll.
Follow the signs for the cycle path through the districts of Gänsleit, Hauning and Stockach in the direction of Scheffau. You reach the Scheffau district of Blaiken, from here you continue through the underpass to the valley station of the Brandstadlbahn Scheffau.
With the Wilder Kaiser always in view, you cycle further along the Weißache past the local history museum to Ellmau. Past the church and through the village center, the Alte Straße takes you to Going.
From Going, continue over the Rerobichl, past Oberndorf and via the districts of Sperten and Weitau to St. Johann.
Numerous refreshment stops in the villages tempt you with hearty refreshments.
