bus stop Gondelbahn Hochbrixen
railway station Brixen im Thale
First the uphill, then pure trail enjoyment!
The starting point is the gondola lift station in Brixen im Thale
Via the Brixenbachalm, the route takes you along a few gravel serpentines and some steep sections to the Wiegalm at around 1500 metres above sea level, by which time most of the 730 metres in altitude have been covered.
With a wonderful panoramic view that stretches as far as the Hohe Tauern, you can get in the mood for the descent ahead.
The descent first takes you along the gravel track before you soon reach the start of the unspoilt Wiegalm Trail after a sharp right-hand bend.
Pure enjoyment as you ride down the trail across the meadows and then into the forest.
The end point of the trail is directly at the Aschauerbundesstraße / Reiserer, then back along the Spertentaler Ache to Kirchberg and then along the cycle path back to the starting point in Brixen.
