Yes, Ischgl can also do something in summer - you can quickly leave the hustle and bustle behind and drive through the long, lonely and beautiful Fimba valley to the Idalp and then steeply up to the Flimjoch. In a high alpine landscape and on the Swiss border.
On this tour from Ischgl in the Paznaun valley to the Flimjoch, you will conquer more than 1,300 meters in altitude. From the Silvrettabahn cable car, the route leads into the idyllic Fimba valley to the middle station of the Silvrettabahn cable car, then steeper through the ski area to the Idalp. The final ascent to the Flimjoch at 2,750 m and the Swiss border is once again steep and sweat-inducing. Up here you can enjoy the magnificent view of the peaks of the Samnaun group.
Culinary delights and a sun terrace await you on the Idalp. As part of the Ironbike Festival, the Alpenhaus Trophy route calls for a floodlit competition. On this route, approx. 1,000 m of ascent are tackled on a steadily ascending asphalt road. Right from the start, the route heads uphill towards the Fimba Valley to the middle station of the Fimbabahn and Silvrettabahn cable cars. It is worth making a detour to the Schwarzwassersee and Pardatscher-See lakes. The road continues to wind its way up towards the Pardatschgratbahn. The view of the pristine Fimba Valley and the Gamspleisspitze becomes ever more impressive. Once you reach the Idalp, the sun terrace invites you to stop for a bite to eat. Back to Ischgl, you can either take the road back or the racy Paznaun Taja Trail (page 46) down towards the Fimba Valley. Another option is to cycle the signposted connecting route 7090 further up to the starting point at the Flimjochbahn mountain station.
