Description

The tour starts at the Waldrast lift in Ehenbichl parallel to the Via Claudia Augusta cycle path. The first section runs through meadows and leads past the Ehrenberg Castle World and the highline179 - both attractions are definitely worth a visit.

The route then meanders along a well-developed forest road through the shady Klausenwald forest and turns right after about 2 km. The route winds its way uphill to the ruins of the High Castle, from where the reconquest of Ehrenberg began in 1703. The imposing remains still give a glimpse of the fortress, which was considered impregnable at the time.

After the wonderful panoramic view of the Reutte nature park region has paid off for the ascent, the way back leads along the same route back to the starting point at the Waldrast lift.
