Description

A very long and challenging tour for well-trained bikers. Particularly beautiful landscapes – an absolute dream! This route description starts out from Ischgl, but you can also set out from See, Kappl or Galtür. The ascent up to the Heilbronner Hütte lodge follows the same route as G.2 (page 58). From here, you take the trail running directly to the north and follow it along past the idyllic Scheidsee lake via the Winterjöchle towards the Schönverwall valley. The subsequent descent is tough and includes some sections where you will need to push the bike. At the Schönverwallhütte (unstaffed), you will come to the forest trail which you follow to St. Anton where you can enjoy the unbelievably beautiful landscapes of the Verwalltal valley. The Stanzertal cycle path then leads to Strengen and then via a forest path follows a new ascent of approx. 600 m altitude up to Paznaun. The valley path then takes you back to the start.
