Description

This 95 km tour takes us via Wörgl to Kufstein, to Walchsee and via St. Johann back to Brixen im Thale. The starting point of this tour is in Brixen im Thale. Cycling along the main road we first reach Hopfgarten. We then continue on the old main road to Bruckhäusl, where we avail of the railway subway and continue towards Wörgl. Shortly before Wörgl we turn right and soon reach the village of Kirchbichl. From Kirchbichl, the cycle path follows the river Inn directly to Kufstein. We continue through the middle of Kufstein towards Ebbs. From Ebbs, a small ascent to Walchsee soon begins. From charming Walchsee, the road continues on the level to Kössen, from where there is a short uphill stretch to Schwendt. From here you have a really fantastic view of the Wilder Kaiser, provided it is cloudless. Alternating slightly uphill and downhill, we then descend via Gasteig to St. Johann. The last 25 km which lead us back to Brixen, are mostly on the level and lie ahead of us. Passing the Agricultural College, Weitau and via Oberndorf we arrive at Reith in Kitzbühel.  We continue to Kirchberg and soon we are back at the starting point. All in all, this tour with its 95 km is not to be underestimated, but it is excellent for increasing your fitness.
