Spertental - Labalm
****
Does the cheese from the Spertental valley have holes or not? Find out for yourself on this cycle tour, preferably together with your children.
Moderately difficult cycle tour into the Spertental nature reserve south of Kirchberg in Tirol. No particular technical challenges, but children should be in good physical condition. In Kirchberg, initially on a paved main road, then switch to a cycle and hiking trail along the Ache river, later back on asphalt. Only a slight incline at first. A Kneipp facility in Aschau provides relaxation, the large playground is fun for children. The gradient increases slightly in Unterer Grund. Pass a waterfall on the way to the Kasplatzl cheese dairy, then after a short steep climb to the Labalm. The last section to the Karalm (unmanaged) at the end of the valley has a good gravel path.
This route is an excellent way to familiarise yourself with your bike. It is also a wonderful tour for e-bike cyclists! From the car park at the Fleckalmbahn in Klausen we cycle along the cycle path (Hennleitenweg) away from the main road, towards Kirchberg. Here we cross the underpass to the roundabout and follow the main road towards Aschau. At the junction in Aschau, we cycle past the Kneipp facility to the Alpengasthof Labalm. After a rest, we return the same way to Kirchberg and from here continue along the main road to Klausen.
