Mountainbike-Tour Kössen - Kitzbühel BIKE TRAIL TIROL Etappe: 11

Description

From the start of the stage at the traffic circle, you first cycle in the direction of the main square and continue on the municipal road to the Tiroler Ache, past the outdoor center Le Pirat. Shortly after, you cross the river and the road. A short climb follows until you again reach the road to Kitzbühel and stay on it until the turnoff "248 Klausenberg-Eggenalm". Now follows an ascent to about 1000m above sea level. You cycle in a southerly direction along the valley until you reach the fork in the forest road with the sign "249 Straubingerhaus-Eggenalm". Here you turn right and cycle downhill for the next 5 kilometers in the direction of Erpfendorf. On the cycle path no. 17 you cycle along the Tiroler Ache, past Erpfendorf to the junction at the new bridge to Kirchdorf. Continue along the green bike path signs with the Bike Trail Tirol logo to St. Johann in Tirol and then to Fieberbrunn (19). In the hamlet of Mühlbach, halfway between St. Johann in Tirol and Fieberbrunn, you leave the bike path and cycle to the valley road. On this road you cycle about 500m out of the valley until you reach the turnoff to the Kitzbüheler Horn (254), 3h from Kössen. Now follows the ascent to the Hornköpflhütte (approx. 3h). Shortly below the hut, a path branches off to the left of the trail, on which you have to push your bike for 500 meters to the next forest road. You now cycle for about 2 kilometers through the ski area and then come across the asphalted mountain road to the Kitzbüheler Horn. Just before you reach the valley floor, you leave the road and cycle straight ahead on the cycle path to the center of Kitzbühel after crossing a small bridge over a stream (1.5 h from Hornköpflhütte).
