Description

Up to the Harschbichl
Without major detours we head from Oberndorf in a southerly direction and then with an arc in an easterly direction up towards the legendary Kitzbüheler Horn. Steep and on many serpentines the road winds upwards. About 7km uphill, but we’re going up for a good reason!

A beautiful forest road with smooth turns and a few serpentines brings us down to the middle station of the Harschbichlbahn. Here we ride along the reservoir and come to the beginning of the Harschbichl Trail.

Harschbichl Trail or forest road
A red trail that invites with a beautiful gate made of wood for an extra portion of fun! 145 turns with north-shore elements and a few bridges, much in the forest but also with great views are ahead of us! A few roots, but also a few steep passages are in it, but an experienced mountain biker will get down here well and with a big grin!

You would rather skip the trail? To the right you can instead descend via the forest road.

At the bottom we arrive in St. Johan in Tirol where we follow the Achendamm along the gently babbling river via Kirchdorf to Erpfendorf. If you like, you can treat yourself to a cool refreshment for your calves at the Kneipp facility right in the village centre!

Pillersee nature paradise
We follow the cycle path into the centre of Waidring and turn right at the crossroads towards St. Ulrich am Pillersee. Before we reach the Pillersee, however, it is worth taking a detour into the Weißbachschlucht gorge. The gravel road winds its way through the rocky gorge and the Weißbach rushes along below. A natural highlight that you shouldn't miss!
We cycle south below the Rechersberg back to Pillersee. The cycle path along the lake is one of the most beautiful in the region. First along the Grieslbach stream, then directly by the lake, then through the incredibly beautiful moorland landscape all around.
After the lake, the route climbs slightly and we follow the cycle path on perfect narrow gravel paths towards the Wiesensee. Once we reach the lake, the Kneipp facility invites us to refresh our tired calves! The route then continues to the church and then a short stretch along the main road to the crossroads in the district of Feistenau.

Destination in Fieberbrunn
At Gasthof Eiserne Hand, the route leads slightly downhill towards the centre of Fieberbrunn. After the Hauser joinery, the route climbs a few more metres uphill to the Lärchfilzhochalm. Here the route branches off to the right along the ‘Jägersteig’ forest path to the Streuböden middle station. Now all trail lovers have another opportunity to take one of the three trails to the valley station of the Fieberbrunn cable cars. The leisurely option continues along the forest path into the valley. From here, it's downhill to the main road and along the cycle path to the finish in the centre of Fieberbrunn.
