Description

The extremely varied, longest Kaiserweis culinary cycle route starts out relaxed. From Kufstein, the path leads over flat areas on the eastern bank of the Inn River to Ebbs. After eight kilometres, the Kaissenhof and its cosy courtyard tavern offers the first enjoyable rest option. The Ebbs cathedral towers show the way. On the first Saturday of each month a large farmer’s market takes place here. Continue on to the Zum Messerschmied show distillery, where excellent schnapps is made in historical surrounds. From Ebbs you can take a scenic detour along the quiet panoramic road up to Aschinger Alm, which is famous for its award-winning cheese. The route continues via Walchsee to Kössen. At Loder on Walchsee you can find out how home-brewed strong beer is turned into fine beer vinegar. An alternative program could be the Wilder Kaiser chocolate manufacturer in Kössen or the mountain pine distillery with healthy elixirs for body and soul. On the way back toward Niederdorf you can stop for refreshments at the Plangger cheese dairy in Sebi and/or the farm shop at Umingerhof. Then the route takes a detour toward the Inn River and follows the cycle path on the river bank back to Kufstein.
