Innradweg Etappe 5: Zillertal - Kufstein/Kiefersfelden (D)
****
Who hasn't heard of the Tyrolean Festival? You should at least have seen the venue at least once. This cycle tour takes you right there.
Enjoyable cycle tour on predominantly flat goods and asphalt paths through small and larger villages with plenty of places to stop for refreshments. The 52 kilometers from Strass via Kufstein to Erl also lead past the smallest town in Austria, Rattenberg. At the end, the municipality of Erl awaits with its famous festival theater.
The cycling path starts at the entrance to the Ziller Valley and leads past Rotholz Castle, built in 1575, and the Mariä Heimsuchung am Brettfall pilgrimage church. Continue on to Kramsach, also known as the "Seendorf Tirols" for its many lakes. Kramsach is also home the most interesting Museum of Tyrolean Farmhouses. A few kilometre’s further, another attraction awaits you - Austria’s smallest town. Rattenberg with its glass working tradition and many shops selling glassware is well worth a visit. The picturesque town of Kufstein with its striking fortress and stunning range of mountains, the Zahmer and Wilder Kaiser, never fails to impress. At the end of the route is the well-known cultural meeting point Erl with its festival hall.
