Description
From the centre of Galtür, the route runs along a moderately steep section up to the Zeinissee and Kopsstausee lakes. After a short stretch and a few metres of elevation gain, it’s time to follow the asphalt road down after the reservoir before a forest trail winds along numerus bends up towards the Heilbronner Hütte lodge. After cycling for a total of 10 km, you will come to the cosy Verbellaalpe lodge where you can enjoy a well-deserved rest and recharge your batteries before tackling the last ascent. The climb leads on up to the Heilbronner Hütte lodge and the last section in particular takes some doing due to the steep incline. After stopping off on the panorama terrace at the lodge, the descent either follows the same path back or you can choose the more adventurous G.3 variation via the Muttenjoch (page 60) or the very long and beautiful Schönverwall-Runde circular tour (page 28).
