singletrack Fleckalm Trail

Difficulty ratings:
Route length: 7.1 km
Duration: 0:45 h

Concentration, fitness and skill - the Fleckalm Trail in the Kitzbühel Alps demands all three from its riders. You will be rewarded with one of the longest trail descents in Tyrol.

Tour character

One of the longest trail descents in Tyrol. Root passages, larger and smaller jumps, finely laid out berms, occasional short counter-climbs and fast speed sections alternate along the route. The trail mostly leads through the forest or along the edge of the slope, crosses the forest path again and again and winds its way down into the valley over many tables, bends and roots.

Description

After a short gravel descent, we reach the trail entrance. We surf through the first berms in the open terrain before having to master a steeper root passage in the forest. The trail winds through mostly sparse mountain forest, crosses small streams and leads over roots, stones and footbridges that cross moors. The technically demanding forest section in the area of the Brandseitbach stream is challenging, and the riding line should be chosen precisely on the slippery ground. The subsequent route is like surfing, alternating between ferns and meadows. The path winds through nature as wide as a towel. A few cows slow us down just before the Fleckalm inn. If you like, you can take a break here, enjoy the view again and recharge your batteries, as the next section is anything but tame, depending on the weather. We reach the technical highlight via more alpine meadows: numerous wooden constructions await us along the Klausenbach stream. They provide variety between root passages and a few hairpin bends. At the end, the trail spits us out in the Klausen district at the Fleckalmbahn parking lot. The Fleckalm Trail is made up of stone, meadow, roots, quarry sand, North Shore elements and forest floor, sometimes built, sometimes completely left to nature. It is certainly the most varied of the "Great Trails Tirol "!
