Follow the route of the pros that come every August to fight for medals in the Cycling World Cup and the Masters Cycling Classic road races.
Start your ride at Bärnstetten in St. Johann in Tirol and follow the B178 federal road towards Lofer/Salzburg. After a short stretch make a left towards Schwendt/Kössen. The road then climbs steeply up to the dreaded Huberhöhe (97 meter elevation gain). Once you have reached the plateau roll down to Gasteig and continue past Griesenau to Schwendt. Just before the center of Schwendt the road climbs once more for a short stretch before descending to Kössen (589 m). At the first roundabout, keep to the right towards Reit im Winkl. At the sharp right turn take the road to Erpfendorf. The climb up to Loferberg (630 m) poses the last challenge of this tour. After Loferberg a well-maintained road takes you towards Erpfendorf. Just before Erpfendorf, make a right on to the bridge and follow Wenger Straße to Kirchdorf. In Kirchdorf continue on Litzlfeldner Straße towards Bärnstetten in St. Johann in Tirol
Tip: If this is not enough challenge for you, head into Kaiserbachtal! In Griesenau make a left into Kaiserbachtal and follow the scenic toll road to Griesner Alm at 1024 masl. Elevation gain: 305m; distance: 4,5km
