singletrack Bunker trail

Difficulty ratings:
Route length: 4.4 km

Fast, steep and rocky: the natural single trail near Nauders winds its way in large bends from the historic bunker facilities down to the turquoise-blue Lake Reschen. Always worth a photo: the anti-tank barriers from the First World War, the church tower in the lake and the panoramic view of the Vinschgau Valley with the snow-covered Ortler massif.

Tour character

The Bunker Trail starts with a fast meadow crossing before it gets steep and rough. The route is now rocky and extremely technical until it leads into the winding Etsch Trail, which flows downhill to Reschen.

Description

The starting point at the historic bunker complex is reached via the flowing Plamorttrail. (Here, high above Lake Reschen with a view of the Vinschgau Valley and the Ortler massif, you will also find one of the legendary photo spots). The red bunker trail (S2) is a 4.4 kilometre long icon, partly newly created, and starts with a fast meadow ride before becoming technically demanding and steep. It finally leads into the winding Etsch Trail, which continues downhill to Reschen.
