Description

Starting from the centre follow the road to the Windau Valley along approx. 1.5 km. Shortly before a left-hand bend leading into the valley take the right into a byway (206) onto a short descent to the Lendwirt. Cycle towards Hopfgarten. A good 3 km later turn left into the Brixental-national road. Keep left along a short stretch to Hopfgarten. Please note, this is a very busy road! In Hopfgarten follow the cycling signs for "Wörgl"; the route leads over a wooden bridge to the left-hand side of the valley. After approx. 1 km take the turn onto the road leading into the Wildschönau. Cycle up to Niederau (824 m) and on a constant gentle uphill to Oberau (938 m). After a short descent, you reach Mühltal (784 m). Cross the Wildschönau River and stay on the 351-bike route (tarmacked road) leading to Thierbach (1.175 m). Approx. 200 m after the church turn left onto the route direction Schatzberg (route 351). At the barrier, the road becomes a forest track. The winding track brings you up to 1680 m at all times along the 351-bike route. At the left-bend cycle straight ahead along the 308 route. You will need to push your bike along a short downhill (approx. 200 m). Get back into the saddle and continue along the relatively flat track in a westerly direction. A short steep descent leads to an Alpine pasture and hut. The track improves and you need to follow the 308-bike route to Alpbach. Shortly before the tarmacked road you reach the "Oberer Höhenweg" (321-bike route). Stay on this road and cycle down to Alpbach.
