Follow the signs for Via Bavarica Tyrolensis (29) and cycle along the eastern shore of the lake to Achenkirch (45 min. from Maurach). Approx. 500m north of the lake turn right and cross the bridge, turning right again next to a double garage onto a field track. After a further 150 m cross the Achensee federal road and cycle parallel to this road along an approx. 400m stretch northwards to the „Köglalm“ turnoff. Follow the signs (no. 461, up to the Köglalm no. 402) up to the Kögljoch and back down, past the Schönjochalm to Steinberg am Rofan (2.5 hours from Achenkirch). The route continues on the main road for approx. 2,5 km in north-westerly direction up to the „Alten Steinbergwegs“ (461, 465) turnoff. Stay on the forest track for the next 3 km until a turn to the right (464, 465). When you reach the road bear left and after approx. 150m turn right passing a large car park onto the track leading to the Gufferthütte (464, 465) – approx. 2 hours from Steinberg.
