Mountainbike-Tour Bike Route Gaislach (644)

Sölden /
Difficulty ratings: difficult
Route length: 19 km
Duration: 3:04 h

Sölden can also be different - away from the lift-supported, well-frequented trails, this tour leads to the Gaislach Alm and Heidealm, at the foot of the Gaislachkogel. Traditional Tyrolean cuisine awaits you here.

Tour character

From Sölden, the route briefly follows the main road, then soon leaves it in the direction of Innerwald. Pass the hamlets of Außerwald and Innerwald for approx. 700 meters on the glacier road and then on an evenly ascending, asphalted path towards the Gaislach Alm and on to the Heidealm - both alpine pastures offer traditional Tyrolean cuisine. From the highest point of the tour, the middle station of the Gaislachkoglbahn, you can either take the asphalt road to the glacier road and continue into the valley or join the Sölden Long Trail.

Description

The starting and finishing point of the Gaislach mountain bike loop is the Freizeit Arena in the center of Sölden. Facing the Freizeit Arena, you begin to the right and follow the Ötztal Cycle Path 11 to the valley station of the Gaislachkogelbahn. Upon reaching the Gaislachkogelbahn, turn right to access the B186 federal road, which you follow until the junction where the glacier road branches off.

From here, continue to the right, climbing the steep glacier road. After two switchbacks, leave the glacier road and turn left onto Infangstraße. This marks the beginning of a steadily ascending route, which is paved at first, leading towards Gaislachalm. Initially, the forest provides some shade, but soon the path opens up to sunny alpine meadows.

The route takes you past the Sonneck, Gaislachalm, and Heidealm huts, before reaching the highest point of the tour: the mid-station of the Gaislachkogelbahn. From there, a paved road leads you to the glacier road, which then takes you back down into the valley.
