Mountainbike-Tour Astberg Circuit

Description

Route: Kirchberg - Reith bei Kitzbühel - Astberg - Ellmau - Going - Reith – Kirchberg. Note: From the centre of Kirchberg, follow the cycle path towards Reith bei Kitzbühel. Shortly after the centre of Reith, before the carpentry company “Hölzl”, turn left onto Astbergweg. On the narrow road, with very little traffic, it’s a steady climb along the serpentine route up the Astberg mountain.  Gradients of up to 12% must be tackled. The reward at the top is a magnificent view of Kitzbühel's prominent mountains: the nearby Wilder Kaiser, the Kitzbüheler Horn, the Hahnenkamm and the Große Rettenstein. A stop at the '"Hollenauer Kreuz" inn is our reward after this climb. The descent takes us to the centre of Ellmau. On the side road to the right of the main road 178, we reach Going. In the centre of Going we turn onto the Söllnerweg and once again come back to the Astberg mountain. Passing the carpentry company “Hölzl”, we return to Kirchberg on the same path.
