Description

From Kaltenbach centre you set off over the wooden bridge (only for pedestrians and cyclists) over the Ziller and on to Stumm. When you reach the village, turn left onto the L281, Stummerberger Landesstrasse road, directly in front of the Stummerberg Gemeindeamt (municipal office). From here it’s uphill, initially through a shady area of forest, later over sunny meadows and fields. Beautiful old farmhouses line the route on the Stummerberg mountain, mostly lovingly decorated with all kinds of flowers. You have to negotiate a climb of almost 500 metres in total to reach your destination. The higher you climb, the less the traffic and the more beautiful the views. Even before the last bend you can see the Tannenalm inn, the destination of this tour, and directly in front of it usually a group of people indulging in their hobby: flying model planes. The inn is known far beyond the Zillertal valley for its model airfield. So, in addition to enjoying some delicious food on your well-deserved refreshment stop, you can also marvel at the daring manoeuvres of all sorts of model planes, not forgetting the fantastic views.
