Mountainbike-Tour 414 Fügen - Gallzein - Buch - Strass

Description

From the starting point at the Festhalle in Fügen, you set off along the main road out of the valley heading north. Turn left shortly before the end of the village and head for Fügenberg. You then face a long ascent that, after a short stretch of forest, leads over the sunny, rural slopes of Fügenberg. You bike round several bends and on a steady incline, with plenty of lovely scenery to enjoy, and the asphalt surface ends near the last houses at the start of the wide belt of forest, and you’re now on forest trails. After about 10km you reach a distinctive crossroads where you have the opportunity to join other MTB routes (e.g. 410). The route now leads slightly downhill heading north and, after a short time, you pass a large, conspicuous wayside cross that signals the entrance to the unspoilt Öxltal valley. You ride into the valley, cross the stream and face a climb of another 200 metres to the crossing point into the Inntal valley, and you’ve now reached the Lackenhütte hut at 1620m. To reach Koglmoos you face a hairy descent on gravel through the forest. You then bike down on side roads into the Inntal valley and finally on the level via Buch and Maurach to the entrance of the Zillertal valley and from there on cycle paths back to Fügen.
