413 Fügen - Öxltal - Schlitterberg - Strass
From the starting point at the Festhalle in Fügen, you set off along the main road out of the valley heading north. Turn left shortly before the end of the village and head for Fügenberg. You then face a long ascent that, after a short stretch of forest, leads over the sunny, rural slopes of Fügenberg. You bike round several bends and on a steady incline, with plenty of lovely scenery to enjoy, and the asphalt surface ends near the last houses at the start of the wide belt of forest, and you’re now on forest trails. After about 10km you reach a distinctive crossroads where you have the opportunity to join other MTB routes (e.g. 410). The route now leads slightly downhill heading north and, after a short time, you pass a large, conspicuous wayside cross that signals the entrance to the unspoilt Öxltal valley. The valley you bike through along the Öxlbach stream out to Schlitterberg is wild and unspoilt. Shortly before you bike down into the Inntal valley near Rotholz, you have the opportunity to take a short detour to Maria Brettfall, the small pilgrimage church which enjoys a fabulously beautiful location high above the entrance to the Zillertal valley. The return from Rotholz to Fügen is flat on cycle paths via Strass and Schlitters.
