408 - Drei Almen Karwendelrunde
****
Yes, it's almost kitschy - but what can you do? With the three rustic alpine pastures in the Karwendel Nature Park, the view of the Inn Valley and the famous Vomper Loch, Tyrol once again shows itself from its most beautiful side on this (e-)bike tour.
Past the Vomperloch and via the Ganalm to the Walderalm, which is already framed by the mighty Karwender mountains. Then on to the Hinterhornalm, which has been awarded the BewusstTirol seal of quality - all products come from regional suppliers. Incidentally, the route is also easy to cycle in the off-season and is particularly beautiful in the fall.
A paved road with little traffic leads from Maria Larch to the Umlberg. Cows graze on this high plateau surrounded by meadows. From the Umlberg, the forest road continues uphill to the Vomperloch. The path offers many great views of this natural monument. The view in the section just before the Ganalm is particularly beautiful. The forest road continues to the Walderalm, at the end it becomes steeper. After the steep section, the path leads out of the forest and a large alpine meadow with the Karwendel giants opens the biker's heart. Here lies the Walderalm, the highest point of the tour. The route then continues via the Hinterhornalm on the toll road to Gnadenwald. In Gnadenwald, a road leads over a high plateau back to the starting point.
Special feature: Although the tour is very strenuous, there are only a few tours with so many views of the Karwendel and the Tux Alps.
